The Caritas Malta Epilepsy Support Group was founded in order to make the Maltese society more aware of what epilepsy and its symptoms are and to raise awareness about the rights of people who have epilepsy. This support group also addresses issues such as development, education, employment and legal matters. The group meets every second Friday of every month at the Caritas premises at 18:00. The aim of this website is to provide information and support to youths who have epilepsy, their families and friends. This could only become possible due to the support from EYiE (Epilepsy Youth in Europe) together with the Youth for Europe Programme of the European Union. In August 2001, two Maltese youths joined a group of about twenty-six youths from sixteen European countries in Bielefeld in Germany to get training in creating new and updating existing websites concerning epilepsy and youths.
